Snow Sport Manager

Afriski Mountain Resort invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the positions of a Snow Sports Manager at its Site at Mahlasela Pass.As the Winter Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and successful execution of all winter-related activities at Afriski Mountain Resort. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating various aspects of the winter season, including skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, and other related activities

Job Responsibilities

You will:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive plan for all winter activities.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure seamless integration of winter programs.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise winter activity staff.
  • Schedule and coordinate staff to cover all operational hours.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
  • Ensure all winter activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Implement and oversee safety protocols for staff and guests.
  • Conduct regular safety drills and training session.
  • Oversee the maintenance and inventory of all winter activity equipment.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure facilities are in optimal condition.
  • Ensure exceptional guest experiences by maintaining high service standards.
  • Address and resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Plan and execute special events and competitions related to winter activities.
  • Collaborate with marketing to promote events and activities.
  • Participating in the budgeting meetings.
  • Develop and manage the department’s budget, ensuring efficient utilization of resources, cost control, and strategic procurement of equipment and supplies.
  • Monitor expenses, analyse trends, and provide recommendations for optimizing operational efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in winter resort management or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge of winter sports and activities.
  • CPR and first aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
