Afriski Mountain Resort invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the positions of a MC at its Site at Mahlasela Pass.

The MC will be responsible for creating an entertaining and welcoming atmosphere, guiding guests through various activities, and ensuring that events run smoothly and according to schedule. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a vibrant personality, and the ability to captivate audiences of all ages.

Job Responsibilities

You will:

Host Winter Events: Serve as the primary host for winter events at Afriski Mountain Resort, including but not limited to ski races, snowboarding competitions, après-ski parties, and special holiday events.
Engage and Entertain Guests: Interact with guests throughout events, engaging them with lively commentary, jokes, and trivia. Keep energy levels high and create a festive atmosphere.
Coordinate Event Activities: Work closely with event organizers, staff, and participants to ensure that activities run smoothly and according to schedule. Make announcements and provide instructions as needed.
Introduce Performers and Speakers: Introduce performers, guest speakers, and sponsors during events. Prepare brief, enthusiastic introductions that highlight their contributions and achievements.

Requirements:

Previous experience as a Master of Ceremony, event host, or public speaker preferred.

Excellent verbal communication skills and a confident stage presence.

Ability to improvise and adapt to changing circumstances.

Enthusiasm for winter sports and outdoor activities preferred.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
