Afriski Mountain Resort invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the positions of a Cook at its Site at Mahlasela Pass.

Job Responsibilities

You will:

  • Do Daily stock ordering.
  • Do the general production of menu items.
  • Ensure company standard operating procedures are adhered to at all times.
  • Ensure proper ordering procedures are followed
  • Ensure all hygiene standards are adhered to at all times.
  • Wash and stack all production equipment.
  • Assist in replenishing stock, keeping it in relevant areas.
  • Keep Stock count where necessary.
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness in entire production area and Back of house.
  • Clean all necessary areas.
  • Report any mechanical issues to management.
  • Keep uniform clean and hygienic daily, ensuring proper uniform is always worn.

Requirements:

  • Physically fit and mobile with no back, leg or arm problems, must be 18 years or older. Able to reach, bend and frequently lift objects.
  • Must be able to speak English fluently, read and understand to a high standard. Basic math skills are essential.
  • Able to listen, understand and carry out work instructions correctly and on time.
  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • Able and willing to live at the resort if and when necessary.
  • Able and willing to work overtime.
  • Must be familiar with Health and Safety rules preferably in a similar environment.
  • Honest, sober habits, conscientious, reliable.
  • Know and understand importance of food production.
  • Must have the ability to manage other staff.
  • This employee must be proactive in the work environment.
